Refund, Return & Exchange Policy

At Inboard Marine Solutions, customer satisfaction and product quality remain our highest priorities. We strive to supply dependable marine engines, generators, sterndrives, gear systems, propellers, marine components, and related products backed by responsive customer support.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please review the following Refund, Return & Exchange Policy.

By placing an order through our website, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.


1. Return Eligibility

To qualify for a return, exchange, or refund, all returned merchandise must:

  • Be in new, unused, and resalable condition
  • Include original packaging, manuals, accessories, warranty cards, and documentation
  • Be free from signs of installation, modification, use, wear, or damage
  • Include valid proof of purchase
  • Receive prior authorization from Inboard Marine Solutions before shipment

Products returned incomplete, improperly packaged, or missing components may be subject to restocking fees, partial refunds, or return refusal at our sole discretion.


2. Return Authorization Required (RMA)

Customers must obtain Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) before returning any item.

Unauthorized returns may be refused and returned at the customer’s expense.

To request authorization, please provide:

  • Order number
  • Customer name
  • Product details
  • Reason for return
  • Photos (if applicable)
  • Return tracking information once available

For refund eligibility, customers must notify Inboard Marine Solutions within ten (10) days of delivery and provide a valid shipment tracking number.


3. Non-Returnable Products

The following products are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund:

  • Marine electronics and electronic accessories
  • Marine engines and complete propulsion packages once installed
  • Marine generators once installed or commissioned
  • Sterndrive systems after installation
  • Custom-built or special-order products
  • Manufacturer direct-shipped items designated as non-returnable
  • Clearance and final sale merchandise
  • Digital products and downloadable materials
  • Gift cards (if applicable)
  • Customized marine components

Due to manufacturer restrictions, registration requirements, transportation regulations, and installation variables, these items cannot be returned once sold.


4. Refund Returns

Eligible products may be returned for a refund within fourteen (14) days of delivery.

Refund conditions include:

  • Original shipping and freight charges are non-refundable
  • Customs, brokerage, taxes, and delivery charges are non-refundable
  • Return shipping costs remain the customer’s responsibility unless caused by our verified error
  • Products must pass inspection upon arrival
  • Damage occurring during return shipment may impact refund approval
  • Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method

5. Exchanges & Store Credit

Eligible products may be returned within thirty (30) days of delivery for:

  • Product exchange
  • Store credit

Returned merchandise must satisfy all return requirements.

Store credit may be issued at the discretion of Inboard Marine Solutions and has no cash value unless otherwise required by law.


6. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Products

Every shipment undergoes inspection before dispatch.

Customers should inspect delivered products immediately.

If you receive:

  • A defective product
  • A damaged shipment
  • An incorrect item

You must notify Inboard Marine Solutions within ten (10) days of delivery.

Claims may require:

  • Order number
  • Description of issue
  • Supporting photographs
  • Original packaging materials

After inspection, we may repair, replace, exchange, or issue a refund where appropriate.

Damage resulting from misuse, improper installation, neglect, accidents, unauthorized modifications, or failure to follow manufacturer instructions is not covered.


7. Shipping Damage Claims

Visible freight damage should be documented immediately upon delivery.

If significant damage is present:

  • Refuse shipment when possible
  • Note visible damage on carrier documentation
  • Contact Inboard Marine Solutions immediately
  • Retain packaging for inspection

Failure to report shipping damage promptly may affect eligibility.


8. Clearance, Demo & Display Merchandise

Discounted inventory may include:

  • Demonstration units
  • Display models
  • Clearance inventory
  • Scratch-and-dent products

These products may include cosmetic imperfections and are sold accordingly.

Cosmetic conditions disclosed at purchase do not qualify for return, exchange, replacement, or refund.


9. International Orders

Customers outside the United States may request approved returns under the following conditions:

  • Return approval must be obtained before shipment
  • Merchandise must satisfy all eligibility requirements
  • Returned items should generally be received within sixty (60) days of purchase
  • Customers remain responsible for shipping, customs, duties, brokerage, and import/export costs

International refund processing may require 14–30 business days following approval.


10. Special Orders

Special-order and custom-sourced products are purchased specifically for individual customers.

Once submitted to the supplier or manufacturer, these orders cannot be cancelled, exchanged, returned, or refunded.

Customers are responsible for verifying specifications prior to ordering.


11. Warranty Claims

Many products sold by Inboard Marine Solutions include manufacturer warranties.

Warranty terms, limitations, and claim procedures are established by each manufacturer.

Customers may contact the manufacturer directly or contact our support team for assistance.

Warranty claims are separate from this Return & Refund Policy.


12. Processing Timeline

After receiving a returned item:

  1. Product inspection is completed
  2. Eligibility verification is performed
  3. Customer receives approval or rejection notification
  4. Refund or exchange processing begins

Typical processing timelines:

  • Domestic refunds: 5–10 business days after approval
  • International refunds: up to 30 business days

Actual timing may vary depending on payment processors and financial institutions.


13. Return Shipping Responsibility

Unless otherwise approved:

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs
  • Trackable shipping methods are recommended
  • High-value returns should be insured

Inboard Marine Solutions is not responsible for lost, delayed, damaged, or misdelivered return shipments.


14. Refund Policy Abuse

We reserve the right to limit or refuse returns, exchanges, refunds, or future orders where there is evidence of:

  • Excessive return activity
  • Fraudulent claims

  • Abuse of policy terms
